Below is a list of my favorites and others as well. Do not come looking
for GaY!Tunnel here. It ain't happening.

My
personal Favorite Chat Clients to date are:
Makus
Quick Chat:
This chat client has moved back up to my personal favorite. Markus has
worked very hard on Quick Chat so much so that I can't describe all
the new features. I will say this, Markus made a new VOX 5.0 has it's
own stand alone log in option. You just have to download it to see it.
YCHT-
Used by the java version of yahoo chat (via the webpage). Can only be
booted by massive amounts of colored room text(lagg). even so, in quickChat,
all this lagg text gets an "auto-iggy" so in this Protocol
you are unbootable. (no "server-side" boots)
Downside:
1)Ymessenger(YMSG
protocol) seems to completely ignore people in YCHT protocol a lot of
the time, thus, the problem people were reporting about their friends
in ytunnel and ymessenger not seeing their text.
2)No Buddylist or Yahoo database-saved ignore list.
Chat
2(DHTML) - Also Available on Yahoo's website for browser-based chat.
Same Unbootabilty as YCHT if lagg spam filters are used. Mass Pm boots
aren't much of a problem here because this protocol only seems to receive
pm's (private messages) from other clients in the same protocol. (A
major downside in the eyes of many).
YMSG
- The Most Elaborate of the protocols and ,therefore, the most easily
exploited Protocol for booting in chat rooms. Ymessenger uses this protocol.
I could probably fill 3 pages listing some of the MAJOR security/privacy
breaches in this protocol due to Ymessenger's features. I could make
this protocol just as unbootable EXCEPT for the fact that there are
now "server-side" methods to boot chatters on YMSG. By this
I mean: NO MATTER WHAT CLIENT YOU USE TO CHAT, THERE ARE WAYS TO BOOT
YOU OUT OF CHAT IN THIS PROTOCOL! The result is , of course much more
problematic for those using ymessenger. In the next build of quickchat,
you will rarely encounter this boot. Even if you do, recovery and re-entrance
to the chat room will take less than 5 sec in my client. Yahoo may even
correct this "server-side" boot problem soon. Ymessenger has
plagued with an unending list of extreme exploitation (revealing you
IP address one of the major ones). As long as Yahoo continues to make
Ymessenger more complex...This will no doubt continue.
